 O U R    P U R P O S E

ABUNDANT LIFE WORSHIP CENTER (ALWC) EXISTS TO REACH PEOPLE WITH THE LIFE-CHANGING MESSAGE OF JESUS CHRIST, THAT THEY MIGHT BECOME FULLY DEVOTED FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST.

Jesus Christ came to seek and to save the lost. It is only through the Gospel of Jesus that we have life, (John 10:10) so we aim to share that life-changing message with as many people as possible (Acts 1:8) and then grow together as followers of Christ to become fully devoted to our Lord and Savior. (John 12:26)

ALWC has three components to help us in fulfilling our purpose:

• We are Devoting ourselves to one another.
• We are Developing our faith through God’s Word – The Bible.
• We are Deploying one another into the community and the world.

Our Foundational Beliefs

• The Bible Is Our Book

The Bible is the living and active word of God. It is verbally inspired by God. It is infallible and the authoritative rule of faith and action for our lives. We believe that God speaks through the Bible, and it’s our constant endeavor to seek to understand His message and apply it to our lives. (Psalm 19:7-11, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, Hebrews 4:12)

• There Is One True God

God has no beginning and no end. God is all knowing, all powerful and all present. God exists as the Trinity in three persons, yet one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He deeply desires and invites us into a relationship of faith, friendship, learning and service with Him. (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 14:6-9)

• Jesus Is The Son Of God

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. God expressed Himself in human form through Christ, born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified for the sins of all, was buried, rose again from the dead, and ascended to heaven. (Matthew 1:18-23, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, Colossians 1:13-23 

• The Salvation of Man

When Jesus walked this earth, He made a very simple invitation, “Come follow me.” Today He makes the same invitation. Because sin has separated humanity from God, we need a Savior to save us from our sins. The good news is the work of salvation was done when Jesus was crucified, buried and rose from the dead. For those who accept Christ’s salvation, His finished work on the cross saves us from our sin and eternal separation from God. (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:9-10)

• The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son of God and is the third person of the Trinity. When Jesus ascended to heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to join us, fill us, and then teach us to live Christ-centered lives. The Holy Spirit can empower believers to witness and pray beyond their own human capabilities. The nine fruits of the Spirit are the by-product of a spirit-filled life and evidence of spiritual maturity. (Acts 2:4, Romans 8, Galatians 5:16-25)

OUR PASTOR

After 34 years of pastoral ministry at Calvary Church in Toledo, Ohio serving as youth pastor (13 years) and then providing pastoral leadership in Discipleship and Missions (20 years), Pastor Bill and his family moved to Dumas, AR in December 2018 to serve as Pastor of Abundant Life Worship Center. Pastor Bill’s passion and calling is to equip the believer to become a devoted follower of Jesus Christ as he teaches and shares biblical truths from God’s Word. Pastor Bill has been married to his college sweetheart, Janie, for 34 years. Pastor Bill and Janie have two grown daughters and one granddaughter.
